Officials said two people were dead and 42 others were hospitalized with Diarrhoea after reportedly drinking dirty water in Bhilai Municipal Corporation in Chhattisgarhs Durg district. On Wednesday, after receiving reports of people suffering from diarrhoea, the Municipal Corporation Commissioner, along with the collection agent, rushed to the spot. The drinking water pipeline was laid along with the drains in most of the colonies under the Amrit Mission about 5 years ago.As people try to make a separate connection for themselves, dangerous substances can sometimes cross these pipelines because they are close to gutters and drains; also, a lot of deconstruction work is underway, which can result in the water being polluted.

Collector Meena said, The problem of Diarrhea originated in two colonies, J P Nagar and Vrinda Nagar, under Bhilai municipal corporation.42 people were admitted to the three different hospitals, and two people died as a result.Their medical records are being scrutinized, and according to the preliminary investigation, they died due to diarrhea.According to officials, all 42 patients are in good health, and the medical teams are going door to door and testing the symptoms among the families.

Nevertheless, local residents also wrote to local authorities about the challenges they have been facing as a result of dirty water, but that no action was taken. We will look into it further and determine whether we should take steps accordingly.Additional information is being sought.
