PATNA (Patnam): Lana Kataw, the country's deputy representative (operations), applauded the state government's efforts on Thursday to advance the interests of children through their various schemes.Kataw and other officials were on a four-day tour to Bihar.She stressed on behalf of the chief secretary, Amir Subhani, that it is vital to have strong interdepartmental coordination in order to effectively protect the rights of women and children.She also discussed various government initiatives relating to the empowerment of women, health, and the development of children.

She also met with DGP SK Singhal and stressed the importance of child friendly police, according to the UNICEF team.The efforts of healthcare and frontline staff were appreciated in the aftermath of the Covid-19 incident.The team visited a government middle school, Aanganwadi centers, a children's home, and several communities in Muzaffarpur, and interacted with the children and elders to gain first-hand knowledge.Kataw also handed over an oxygen plant to Rajendra Nagar Eye Hospital, which would serve the needs of the 150-bed facility.
