city roads patched up by August 25 at the latest: KMC chief

Kolhapur, India — Administrator of Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC), Dr. Kadambari Balkawade, directed the civic bodies engineers to finish the patchwork of the pothole-filled roads in the city by August 25, ahead of the Ganesh festival.At KMC headquarters, he said, The engineers and officials concerned have been given instructions to finish the patchwork of the roads by August 25.The lists of the patches under all four divisional ward offices have been circulated and the work will begin shortly.The repairs were requested by the government.

On Saturday and Sundays prior to the festival, a special campaign will be run.According to Balkawade, a meeting of the Ganeshotsav mandals in the Rajarampuri police station zone was also held on the arrival day processes.According to Ishwar Omase, the police inspector of Rajarampuri police station, the Ganesh mandals have been given permission to install mandaps so as to not disrupt the traffic flow.We will be implementing a one-window system to give permissions to these mandals.
