Noida, India: Rains will keep classes up to 8 in all government and private schools in Noida and Greater Noida, according to the Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration.Due to the persistent rains, the district administration had set a timeframe for the closure of schools for Friday.The district magistrate has declared a holiday for Students of Classes 1 to 8 in all the schools of all the boards, keeping in mind the safety of the students due to heavy rainfall and excessive waterlogging on the roads.Consequently, District School Inspector Dharamveer Singh said that all principals and headmasters should ensure that the order is followed.

Since Thursday, Gautam Buddh Nagar has seen continuous rainfall, with rain bands continuing on Friday evening, causing waterlogging in certain parts of Noida and Greater Noida.Some parts of the district were also plagued by traffic jams as a result of the rains, particularly at peak times in the morning and evening, according to police, who said the situation is largely under surveillance in the twin towns adjacent to Delhi.According to the weather department, the district received 15 mm of rain in a 24-hour period ending on Friday morning, a 689-percent drop from the previous year's average rainfall.
