CM Bhupesh Baghel reiterates call for GST compensation and NPS amount

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reiterated the states demands for a refund of the NPS amount and GST compensation . Baghel also requested that the state government relinquish the old pension scheme in Chhattisgarh for ensuring the safety of government employees and their families .

At a pre-budget meeting held in New Delhi on Friday, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reiterated the states' demands for a refund of the NPS amount and GST compensation.CM Baghel also requested that the state government relinquish the old pension scheme in Chhattisgarh for ensuring the safety of government employees and their families.He said that Rs 17,240 crore deposited with NSDL before March 31 should be returned in order to put it in the employees' General Provident Fund.The state government's interest will be deposited in a separate pension fund that will be used to meet pensionary obligations in the future, he informed the Union Minister.

He demanded an amount of 1,875 crore for GST relief.CM said that the state of Chhattisgarh should have a minimum support price for Kodo and Kutki crops, as the United Nations has declared it as the International Year of Millet, and that he has urged the state to hold a coal royalty amount of Rs 4,140 crore for the state.CM also ordered that the state government release Rs 1,288 crore for four special and Indian defence forces deployed in the state.
