Court Order: Case Against Karnataka's Health Minister to be Filed

Bengaluru: A special court has requested the registration of a criminal case against Karnataka Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar, who claimed to have defamed an activist, according to the order issued by the XLII Additional Magistrate Court, which is a Special Court of trial of cases against sitting and former legislators.The suit was brought to the attention of Judge Preeth J. Reddy, a lawyer who advocated for irrigation schemes, said Sudhakar abused his power and made defamatory remarks against him at a public event on June 27, according to Reddy's lawsuit.Sudhakar and the two newspapers had been given legal notices, but they have not offered a public apology.The court said that by reading the complaint averments and the sworn statement of the complainant prima-facie, the complainant is defamed.
