Mumbai: After a division bench of Justices Dheeraj Thakur and Valmiki Menezes rescinded their order on a public interest lawsuit requiring an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against the Thackerays for allegedly amassing wealth disproportionate to known sources of income, Pai told the court.Bhide allegedly sent a letter to the Mumbai police commissioner about her claims before filing the complaint, but Bhide told the court on Thursday that she has not been informed of any such investigation by the police.Bhide told the court that senior counsel Chinoy and Ashok Mundargi, who represent Uddhav Thackeray, his partner Rashmi Thackeray, and son Aaditya Thackeray, had argued the petition was purely hypothetical.Chinoy said the petitioner has a separate remedy, which he said is available to a magistrates court, seeking a police probe, and that Bhide should have filed a private complaint with the police or a private complaint if no compensation has been received.
