A man and his sister, both directors of an app-based healthcare firm, have been arrested by Delhi Police for allegedly duping their partner of Rs 16 crore by using false documents, according to the Economic Offences Wing.Dr Cherian (35), a resident of Panchsheel Enclave, and Meenakshi Singh (36) of Bengaluru have been named as the accused.Dr. Cherian earned his MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi, but his sister holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, according to investigators.According to joint commissioner (EOW) Chhaya Sharma, the accused persons extorted Dr Gandharv Goyal's shares for Rs 900 and then issued the same amount of shares to new investors for Rs 16 crore.Dr Goyal and Dr Cherian, according to his complaint, were executives and shareholders of Synapsica Technologies Pvt Ltd with its headquarters in Jasola, Delhi.Cherians' sister joined the company later in the year with the intention of creating software.The corporation also raised around Rs 5 crore in 2019.During the probe, it was revealed that the accused had hatched a criminal plot between them and founded a US company to attract more investors, and then repurchased Dr Goyal's stake in Ms Synapsica Healthcare Inc on the basis of his forged signature generated by an app called DocuSign. The accused were apprehended from a beach in Tamil Nadu by a team led by DCP MI Haider and ACP Ramesh Narang on the basis of some gathered evidence.
