New Delhi, India, August 18: Lt Governor VK Saxena wrote to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday, requesting his permission for translocating trees in the city for an unfavorable period of time.The Department of Forest and Wildlife, GNCTD, also issued a letter.However, the Department of Forest and Wildlife, GNCTD, has delayed several major projects for an excessive period of time due to a shortage of permission for translocating trees under the Delhi Preservation of Trees Act, 1994, including the redevelopment of General Pool Accommodation at Sriniwaspuri Sarojini Nagar, the Construction of Central Industrial Security Force, Central Frontage Project, Dwarka Expressway, EMU at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, among other things.In some cases, the pendency can stretch beyond a year.

In the case, LK Saxena demanded that the system be rebuilt; however, the machinery will be overrun with public funds due to the overrun of the initiatives as a result of the unwarranted delays in the processing of applications for tree cutting permission.According to the letter, further pendency in the completion of the initiatives is also halting the provision of vital public facilities and services to Delhi's citizens.
