New Delhi, India, June 23: The city's daily COVID count has doubled in the last 24 hours, with 1,934 new cases reported in the city.According to the Delhi Health Department, the national capital saw zero fatalities on Thursday, while the positivity rate stood at 8.10 percent.Hence, the total number of positive cases rose to 19,27,394, including 5,755 cases.A positivity rate of 8.10 percent was observed in the 23,879 tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

As the city recorded zero fatalities, the death toll stood at 26,242.The incidence of fatalities in this situation is 1.36 percent.In the last 24 hours, 26,121 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19.So far, the total doses taken are 3,47,58,218.

According to an increase in COVID-19 cases in India, Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya examined the country's COVID-19 and vaccination situation on Thursday.Mandaviya called for a high-level meeting with key experts and officials in India on Monday, focusing on vaccination of the elderly population, school-going children, and surveillance and genome sequencing.The Union Minister also recommended that medical attention be given to districts reporting high incidence rates of COVID-19, as well as healthy COVID-19 surveillance.As there are adequate vaccine doses available, ensure that there is no vaccine waste while focusing on increasing vaccination among the eligible and vulnerable groups, he said.
