New Delhi, December 8: As the Indian National Congress (INC) claimed victory in the Himalayan Pradesh Assembly election, veteran leader Jairam Ramesh slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying that the party struggled to maintain control of the state despite PM Narendra Modi's high voltage campaign in the home state of BJP President JP Nadda.Ramesh also called the PM a Prachar Mantri.The prime minister's high-voltage campaign in the BJP's home state failed badly.In his tweet on Thursday, Jairam Ramesh said that the Congress made its promises to the people of Himachal that would be fulfilled.

Independent candidates took three seats in Himachal Pradesh, while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) failed to open its account in the state.Independents and the others in the fray combined to gain a further 10.4 percent vote share in the hill state.The Congress, which had not cast a vote for the hill state, has agreed to hold a meeting of its triumphant MLAs in Chandigarh, fearing that the BJP would attack the result.Jairam Ramesh called the results of the Gujarat Assembly election disappointing and said that only Congress was the only viable option.According to the most recent reports, the BJP is expected to gain 156 seats in the 182-member Gujarat assembly, winning 142 seats and leading on 14 seats.

In an indication of its increasing presence in the state, the group has increased its vote percentage to 12.82 percent.
