Digvijaya Singh will not run for president in the Congress

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh announced that he was not running for president . Ashok Gehlot and Shashi Tharoor are now the most promising candidates for the post .

JABALPUR, Madhya Pradesh (Madhya Pradesh): Clearing the gulf in the rumors surrounding his candidature for the All India Congress Committee (AICC) presidential election On Friday, Congress leader Digvijaya Singh announced that he was not running for president. In a press conference in Jabalpur, the veteran president said that he would not vote in the Congress presidential election, but that he would follow the instructions given to him by the party's higher authority.Since Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot declared his candidacy on Friday, the Congress president election has been an up-and-down process.Gehlot also confirmed that Rahul Gandhi has made it clear that no member of the Gandhi family will become the next party president.

In that scenario, there is also the possibility that Sachin Pilot will be promoted in Rajasthan.Rahul Gandhi described the position of Congress president as an ideological position, citing a combination of ideas, belief system, and a vision of India. But with Digvijaya Singh's clearance, Ashok Gehlot and Shashi Tharoor are now the most promising candidates for the post, and this has brought the congress leaders to two different edges.Shashi Tharoor is being considered for a president election by Congress leader Gourav Vallabh on Thursday, saying that Tharoor has made his only major contribution to the party by sending Sonia Gandhi a letter at the time she was hospitalized.

My first wish is for Rahul Gandhi ji to lead the Congress and the nation, as a million-strong group of workers. But, if Rahul Gandhi ji stays firm on his decision not to take up the Congress chief post and one has to choose between the two names that are appearing in public discourse, then there is no comparison between them, Vallabh said in a series of tweets.Ashok Gehlot, on the other hand, has the experience of being a Union minister, three times chief minister, five times MP, and five times MLA, and has defeated Prime Minister Modi- Amit Shah in a direct election and has 45 years of streakable political experience, according to a tweet. On the other hand, Shashi Tharoor sahib, who has only made one major contribution to the party in the last 8 years, wrote to Congress President Sonia Gandhi ji when she was hospitalized, this act brought pain to millions of party workers like me.

Sonia Gandhi was notably contacted in August 2020 by G23 leaders, including Tharoor, who wanted to implement large-scale changes in the party.Shashi Tharoor met Sonia Gandhi at her home in the national capital on September 19, where he announced his intention to contest the polls in order to strengthen the party's internal democracy.Gandhi said in a nod to a Thiruvananthapuram MP that anybody can run in elections. On Wednesday, Tharoor met with the party's Central Election Authority chairman, Madhusudan Mistry.

The election is scheduled for October 17 and the counting of votes will take place on October 19.
