INDOORE: Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited (MPPKVVCL), which was established in 2002, is all set to begin e-billing customers in Indore.Officials from Discom said that they have already implemented e-billing or a paperless billing scheme in three towns in Indore and Dhar districts, and that they plan to begin the scheme in Indore as well.As part of our work to enhance customer services in Pithampur, Depalpur, and Shajapur areas, we've started sending paperless or a PDF copy of monthly electricity bills to consumers directly on their registered mobile numbers or on their registered e-mail addresses, according to discom managing director Amit Tomar. He said that plans to introduce the same scheme in Indore are pending before the end of this month.

Pithampur was the first town where this paperless billing method was introduced.According to Tomar, there are approximately 18,000 customers who have started receiving their monthly bills directly on their mobile phones and email ids, and the new system is being integrated with Discoms billing software for real-time update and monitoring.Consumers will be aided by their respective zonal offices if they face any difficulties under the new scheme. If the consumers want a printed copy of their bills, they can also be obtained from the zonal offices.

On average, this will save around 2 crore papers from being used for printing electricity bills.
