Delhi government cancels recognition of Delhi Public School, Sector-24, Rohini . Delhi High Court ordered that Delhi Public School, Sector-24, Rohini, not to increase fees .
New Delhi, December 6: The Delhi governments Directorate of Education canceled the recognition of Delhi Public School, Sector-24, Rohini, on Tuesday for non-compliance with fee hike laws. The directorate of education notified the privately-run DPS, whose response was unsatisfactory, and issued an order to cancel recognition of the school.According to the order, the children will be able to complete the 2022-23 session, or to the nearest government school with parental permission, The school board has also requested that the school management refund the increased fees paid by parents immediately, according to the order. The suspension follows alleged breaches of law and regulations by school boards as well as the increase of fees.Notably, the Delhi High Court found that in 2016 all private schools to which the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has allocated land should not increase the fees on their own. Before raising the fees, the education department must obtain permission from the government.According to the government, DPS Rohini is situated on DDA property.
Allerdings, it is said that the school administration increased the fees during the session 2020-2021 by disregarding this order. The parents of the children challenged this decision, and the court was summoned. The schoolss recognition was cancelled after the HC order was issued and after failing to receive a satisfactory response from the school board.
