Droupadi Murmu, the presidential candidate backed by the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA, is set to file her nomination papers on Friday, according to sources.According to the sources, the BJP has invited all of their allies to vote for the nomination, including the heads of state of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma and Nagaland Chief Minister Nephiu Rio.It is also reported that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will serve as the candidate for Murmus's seat.Notably, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is not a NDA ally but is often cited as supporting the NDA government on important bills and legislation.In a press conference held at the party's headquarters on Monday, JP Nadda declared Droupadi Murmu as the NDA candidate for the forthcoming presidential election.
