Chennai (Tamil Nadu, India), December 9: In the aftermath of Cyclone Mandous, the Chennai Division of Southern Railway announced on Friday that suburban trains in Chennai could be cancelled and rescheduled if necessary to prevent untoward incidents.Chennai Division Ganesh, the division's chief, has urged the Branch officers concerned and field officers to reaffirm safety rules and alert all frontline staff so that safe train operations are maintained.Based on weather warnings and the current situation, suburban trains may be cancelled or rescheduled if necessary to prevent untoward events.For determining the situation, a close contact is being maintained with the state Meteorological Department and the adjacent Railway zones, read the notice.
