New Delhi, India, December 6: With immediate effect, the Delhi government's Transportation department banned the manufacturing of BS-3 Petrol and BS- 4 Diesel LMVs (4-wheelers) in Delhi-NCR until December 9.The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), a Union government body recommending steps to curb air pollution in Delhi and the national capital region, announced on Sunday that a temporary suspension on construction and demolition activities in Delhi-NCR would begin immediately after the severe category was identified, as per the directions provided under Stage III of the revised GRAP and under section 115 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.The CAQM issued a statement on Sunday indicating that any vehicle used for government, electoral, or emergency services operations must be undertaken in accordance with section 194 of the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, which includes a penalty of Rs 20,000; hospitals; highways; highways; bridges; power transmission; pipelines;; and ancillary activities related to and supplementing the above categories of activities.An AQI between 201 and 300 is considered moderate, 301 and 400 moderate
