On Thursday, a team of Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA), along with officials from the district child protection department and the Railway Protection Force, rescued at least eight children who were reportedly being trafficked to Punjab for alleged bonded labor, according to Yadwinder from BBA.The rescue operation was carried out at Ludhiana Railway Station on Thursday.These children were travelling on different buses.The district child protection office and the railway safety unit were subjected to a lawsuit when the train arrived at platform 2 of Ludhiana station and inspection teams checked five coaches and rescued up to eight children, according to Yadwinder.
The children would be coached, and the CWC will take steps based on their statements, he said.
