New Delhi, December 6: According to the official statement of the Sri Lankan High Commission in New Delhi, Milinda Moragoda met with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday and thanked her for the brief emergency assistance that India has provided to the island country during its challenging time.The finance minister was also briefed by the Sri Lankan High Commission in New Delhi on the progress of Sri Lanka's bilateral economic cooperation, which began in November last year.Moragoda informed her of the harmful consequences that Sri Lanka's recent economic contraction is having on the country's poor and most vulnerable groups.The High Commissioner said that India can play a key role in the country's economic revival by supporting trade, tourism, and tourism.Minister Sitharaman and High Commissioner Moragoda also looked at the status of bilateral economic cooperation.
