FIFA World Cup 2022: Senegal defeats host Qatar 3-1 with help from Dia, Diedhiou, and Dieng

Senegal beat Qatar 3-1 in the Group A match at Al Thumama Stadium . Boulaye Dia, Famara Diedhiou, and Bamba Dieng scored in the second half .

Doha, Qatar, November 25, 2019: Senegal beat Qatar 3-1 in the Group A match at Al Thumama Stadium thanks to goals from Boulaye Dia, Famara Diedhiou, and Bamba Dieng.Mohammed Muntari scored the only goal for the host nation and became the country's goal-scorer.Senegal also enjoyed more possession, 55% of which compared to Qatar, which had just 45 percent.In the fourth minute, Senegals Ismaila Sarr right footed shot from a dangerous angle on the right was close but misses to the right.

Muntari was the first goal-scorer for his country in the FIFA World Cup.The cheer of home supporters was limited as Senegal's supporters erupted in delight six minutes after Bamba Dieng restored a two-goal lead.The West African remained in control of the game right up until the final whistle and won 3-1.
