FIR filed in Ayodhya against criminals who assaulted a couple swimming in Saryu

AYODHYA: Ayodhya police filed an FIR against the unidentified suspect after seeing a viral video in which a couple taking a bath in the Saryu river in Ayodhya was assaulted by some people who suspected them of indulgent in vulgarity.The Superintendent of Police (SP), Shailesh Pandey, said the FIR was filed by the local police outpost in-charge sub-inspector Dharmendra Kumar Mishra under Sections 147 (rioting), 323 (voluntarily causing harm) and 504 (intentional insult) of the Indian Penal Code.While efforts are ongoing to locate the couple, we went further and filed a lawsuit on the basis of the photo.According to the SP, no one can break the rules and manipulate anyone.

As he and his wife were reportedly found to be engaged in indecent conduct while bathing in the pond, police said he was beat up in an alleged act of moral policing.On a video of the incident, a man is seen being pulled away from his wife and assaulted by many men in the vicinity.According to one man, such vulgarity will not be tolerated in Ayodhya.The wife wishes to protect her husband, but he refuses to do so.

The incident took place on Tuesday, according to preliminary results.
