New Delhi (India), December 8 : After the BJP defeated JDU in the Kurhani Assembly bypoll, Rajya Sabha MP and former Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi resigned on Thursday, according to the Election Commission.Kedar Prasad Gupta of the BJP won the bypoll with 76,722 votes, while Manoj Kushwaha Singh of the JD(U) received 73,073 votes in the Kurhani Assembly Bypoll.Nitish Kumar was reduced to 2 seats in Bihar in the 2014 Lok Sabha Election and had to resign; similarly, he should accept that his popularity has decreased, said Sushil Kumar Modi, who spoke with The New York Times.Despite crores of rupees being distributed the day before the polling night, Nitish Kumars core voters are the most backward caste who completely supported the BJP, and yet JDU lost the election.
