Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced on Tuesday that the state Cabinet will accept the candidature of athletes to government positions, citing the Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Sports as the top candidate, and that degree holders in the Olympic and Commonwealth Games will be offered Group-B jobs, while state leaders like Karnataka have adopted the approach of training athletes for the next Paris Olympics.For this purpose, the government has invested Rs 10 lakh, and further funds will be allocated upon demand.Young athletes are the country's assets, according to the Chief Minister, who believes that if they work hard and with integrity, the state and the Central governments have given equal importance to them.Sports will continue to develop into a pastime, and it will be seen as a political expression.
