New Delhi, India, November 18: On Friday, Thailand's embassy to India, Pattarat Hongtong, and Oman Ambassador to India Issa Alshibani, who were in the Khadi India Pavilion at the 41st India International Trade Fair-2022, lauded the global success of the Khadi and took selfies with Mahatma Gandhi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the selfie point.Both Ambassadors adored the vast array of products at the Khadi India Pavilion, as well as the exquisite craftsmanship of Khadi artisans.According to an official release, the ambassadors watched a live demonstration of yarn spinning on a charkha, clay pottery, Incense sticks (Agarbatti), and handmade paper making.In addition, he visited several other stalls at IITF, showcasing the finest handcrafted Khadi fabric, readymade apparel, handmade jewellery, herbal health care products, and a wide variety of village industry products.
According to the press release, Khadi strikes a special chord between India and Thailand, and the two countries will work out how to partner in spreading Khadi to the rest of the world.
