Former football players take part in a media event

KOLKATA (KOLKATA): It's not often one gets to see stars of Indian football like Prasun Banerjee, Prasanta Banerjee, Alvito DCunha, and Krishnendu Roy watch a football match with such enthusiasm.These former footballers were given a unique opportunity to monitor their performance when putting on their sports shoes, because they have always monitored their performance.At the conclusion of the two-day Merlin Rise CSJC Media Football Tournament here on Wednesday, Alvito said, I enjoyed the competition immensely from outside.While Sambad Pratidin defeated Dainik Jugasankha 5-2 to win the print media division, Arohi News defeated Tribe TV via tiebreaker to become the electronic media division champions.

On Tuesday, AIFF president Kalyan Choubey and former India striker Dipendu Biswas started the tournament in the presence of Satyen Sanghvi, the director of Merlin Group, and all members of Calcutta Sports Journalists Club.On the morning of the final day of play, former player Mehtab Hossain paid a visit to the participants.For the first time in the tournament's history, the organizers used the best facilities at the venue to stage two matches concurrently on adjacent fields.After both teams were tied 3-3 at the end of regulation, champions Sambad Pratidin had to sweat it out against a very disciplined Din Darpan in perhaps the tournament's greatest match.
