SM Krishna, the former chief minister and BJP chief, was admitted to Manipal Hospitals, Old Airport Road, on Saturday night, where he is being treated for a serious respiratory tract infection.Doctors said Krishna, 90, is in a positive state of mind and is responding to therapy after ruling out Covid-19.Krishna was first taken to Vydehi Hospital and then transferred to Manipal Hospitals, according to a hospital report. When the former Union minister was introduced, Dr Satyanarayana Mysore, the head of the pulmonology department, said he was on oxygen and airway-pressu re support.

We will see how we can reduce the support in the next 3-4 days until he arrives stable.Dr Mysore said that the program would continue until patients were assured of complete health. We don't know the exact time period. We are hoping for more stability at this moment in time as we reduce the support in a gradual fashion, he said.

Age and cardiovascular health are the primary factors in this regard. He has taken a toll on himself as a result of the respiratory disease, but he is less critical and more resilient than he was in at the time.He is on only minimal respiratory assistance. In a release, the hospital said that health minister Dr Sudhakar is monitoring his health.

Krishna was admitted to Vydehi (Mallya, earlier) hospital, according to Bommai, because of fever the day before. On Saturday night, he developed breathing difficulties and was shifted to Manipal Hospitals. After surgery, he found normalcy in the morning, had breakfast, and is now recovering quickly. He is healthy.

There's no reason to be concerned.
