Chandigarh: Experts from France will assist the UT administration in the areas of identification, restoration, and legal protection of historic furniture as well as in the city's preservation of its architectural heritage.During his visit to Chandigarh on Saturday, French Ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenain, called on Punjab governor and UT administrator Banwarilal Purohit, saying that his contribution to the region has been substantial from the conception of the city to its planning and execution.According to him, French architect Le Corbusier designed this City Beautiful, and the French consultants are now specialized in turning the city into a Smart City.Chandigarh will look forward to French assistance in the field of identifying, restoration, and legal protection of historic furniture, as well as in the preservation of the city's architectural heritage, according to him.
