From today, Kazakhstan will suspend aviation connectivity with Egypt due to the Omicron variant.

Kazakhstan suspends flights to Egypt from cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent, Kostanay, and Aktobe. Around 2,800 Kazakh passengers are currently living in Egypt.

September 3 (Sputnik): Kazakhstan is suspending flights to Egypt from the cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty, Shymkent, Kostanay, and Aktobe to the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh from December 3 this year, according to the Civil Aviation Committee of the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.Around 2,800 Kazakh passengers are currently living in Egypt, according to the airlines mentioned.According to a statement, passengers will be able to board flights operated by Kazakh carriers out of the northern African country from December 3 to 10, and will have to record a negative COVID-19 test dated no later than 72 hours, as well as self-isolate for a week upon arrival, following the detection of the Omicron variant, which is considered to be more dangerous and transmissible due to its high number of mutations.(S
