The state forest department has decided to plant 18 species of trees and shrubs within Gandhinagar city limits . The shrubs include Guletura, Cascabela thevetia, Tecoma stans, Lagerstroemia, and Lawsonia inermis (Mehendi)

AHMEDABAD: Under the plantation drive Hariyalu Gandhinagar, the state forest department has decided to plant 18 species of trees and shrubs within Gandhinagar city limits.During this project, 21 lakh trees will be planted.The shrubs include Guletura, Cascabela thevetia, Tecoma stans, Lagerstroemia, and Lawsonia inermis (Mehendi).The Chandni tree, Ixora, Bougainvillea, Gulmohar, Tabebuia Cassia Fistula (gurmalo), Jacaranda, Neem, Adansonia digitata (Parijaat), and Bottle Palm are among the plants to be planted.

The blueprint is included with it.In the next two weeks, work on greening the capital will begin.Officials said that 4.6 lakh shrubs will be planted alongside the 21 lakh trees in different areas.Plantation efforts will be made on 428 hectares of land under the GEER Foundation, while parts around Punit Van, in the municipal corporation district, and within the GIDC estate will cover 75 acres.
