New Delhi, December 7: Muktsar Sahib Police of Punjab Police arrested Lawrence Bishnoi on Wednesday for transit in Punjab Court, claiming to have been unlawfully harassed and threatened to ransom the owner of a hotel, according to the court.The said case was prosecuted in a separate FIR dated 22.03.2021 for offence us 387506 IPC, according to the court.According to a statement by State of Punjab, Advocate General Gaurav Dhama said that the case is still under scrutiny and that since the accused is one of the most wanted criminals in the State of Punjab and has been implicated in other investigations, he could not be arrested in this case because of the ongoing probe.The Additional Advocate General announced that NBWs had been issued against accused Lawrie Bishnoi in the case.After reviewing the form and the NBWs received from the court of Muktsar Sahib in the case, Judge Shailendra Malik said the accused Lawrence Bishnoi will be arrested and arraigned before the proper court in Punjab.
