New Delhi (India), November 30 : Philipp Ackermann, the German ambassador to India, said on Wednesday that his country has taken note of Indias displeasure with an Indian baby in foster care and is aware of the problem's severity.We are well aware of the nature of the issue.When you take a child away from their parents, it's always a difficult situation.Ackermann said, I don't know why that happened and I am not entitled to know that we're looking at it.However, please understand that I will not be able to express myself on the facts of this case because it is totally independent from any body, according to a German envoy.

Dr. Philip Ackermann, a professor at the University of Edinburgh, said that Germany follows the rule of law and that governments are forbidden from involving in court affairs because it is completely separate from the government's agenda.The Ministry of External Affairs reported earlier this year that it has been cooperating with the German authorities regarding the Indian baby in foster care for more than a year.Since September 2021, the Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, The Government of India has been intervening and cooperating with the German authorities.A Gujarati couple has attempted to reconcile with their daughter after being separated from their baby girl.

Following this, German authorities accused the couple of sexual harassment and abducted the child, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.The situation of the Indian baby who is now in foster care in Germany is a sensitive matter and subject to sub judice.Bagchi said it has been working with German authorities in the hopes of a prompt conclusion of the trial proceedings.
