New Delhi, December 7: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, defending Indias position on importing crude oil from Russia, said on Tuesday that it is a wise move to go where we get the best price in the interest of the Indian people.Because of the West's energy caps, the minister expressed dissatisfaction with the stability and affordability of energy markets.When speaking to the Rajya Sabha on the first day of the winter session of Parliament, Jaishankar said that oil and gas prices in the Middle East countries, which were Asia's traditional suppliers, have risen dramatically, and that India's relationship with Russia has been in jeopardy.He reiterated close links with Moscow, describing the region as a reliable and time-tested partner.

On several UN forums, however, New Delhi has consistently advocated the cessation of violence and diplomacy.He said that India has acknowledged its position on Russian oil imports and has moved forward, stating that in such situations India is transparent about its intentions and wants the best deal.Moreover, the External Affairs Minister emphasized India's support for a two-state solution in Palestine earlier this year.He also highlighted how New Delhi's financial assistance to Palestine has risen.We were very specific about Palestine; we favor a two-state system in which both states live peacefully side by side.Jaishankar said that our financial support for the Palestinian refugee agency has increased.
