Gandhinagar (Gujarat), December 8, 2018: According to results obtained from the counting of votes Gujarat Assembly polls on 144 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party leads on 123 seats, while Congress is in second place with a lead on 22 seats.The Aam Aadmi Party has 9 seats and is currently in third place on the leaderboard.On two seats, the left is also leading.According to the Election Commission data distributed until 9.45 am, the BJP has dominated in 9 Assembly constituencies, with 112 seats out of an 182-member Assembly.Rivaba Jadeja of the BJP, who made her electoral debut in these elections, is trailing on the Jamnagar North seat.So far, Congress Bipendrasinh Jadeja has led on the seat, with 2,976 votes.Isudan Gadhvi, a BJP candidate from Khambhalia, is leading with 4,088 votes against BJP's Ayar Mulubhai Hardasbhai Bera and Congress Ahir Vikrambhai Arjanbhai Maadam.Rivaba Jadeja, the BJP's leader who made her electoral debut in these elections, is trailing on the Jamnagar North seat. The counting of votes will be carried out by an additional 78 Assistant Election Officers.In addition, 71 additional Assistant Election Officers have been appointed to handle the previously conducted postal ballot system in Gujarat on December 1 and 5.Gujarat's general voter turnout was 63.11% during the second phase of polling.The exit polls in Gujarat have showed a clear victory for the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which has been in power for 27 years. In the last assembly elections in 2017, Congress fought a tense opposition to the ruling BJP.However, the AAP could stifle the contest for Congress by taking away a significant vote share in their favour.
