Ahmedabad (Gujarat) (India), December 5: Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel cast her vote for the second phase of the Gujarat Assembly Polls on Monday at Polling Booth 95, Shilaj Anupam School.According to the Election Commission's results, Gandhinagar saw the highest percentage of voters voting at 8 am, followed by Mahesana (5.44 percent).In the second phase of the Gujarat elections, which will be decided by over 2.51 crore voters, the Election Commission has set up 26,409 polling booths and nearly 36,000 Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).Around 29,000 presiding officers and over 84,000 polling officers have been stationed in 14 districts to ensure the polling process, according to Gujarat's Chief Electoral Officer P Bharathi, 93 are model polling booths, 93 are eco-friendly, another 93 are run by Divyang, and 14 are run by youth.

The polling began at 8 a.m. in 89 constituencies located in 19 districts in the Kutch, Saurashtra, and South Gujarat regions.On December 1, the first phase of voting for 89 seats in Kutch, Saurashtra, and South Gujarat concluded with a total turnout of 63.31 percent.The counting of votes will begin on December 8.
