Gujarat: Following the BJP's resounding victory, PM Modi holds a roadshow in Ahmedabad

Narendra Modi won 156 seats in Gujarat Assembly election . Opposition Congress could only manage 17 seats .

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), December 12 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roadshow in Ahmedabad on Sunday late evening, winning the Gujarat Assembly election with a whopping 156 seats, the highest number of seats any party has won since the state's formation in the year 1960.People flocked to the streets behind PM Modis' convoy and applauded him.Prime Minister Modi was seen greeting people and waving at them as he landed in Ahmedabad on Monday for the swearing-in ceremony of Bhupendra Patel, who will take the oath as Gujarat's Chief Minister for the second time in a row.PM Modi posted a photo of the roadshow on Saturday at Raj Bhavan, near the state BJP office in Gandhinagar, where he and 20 other cabinet ministers will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday to demand that the party's oath-taking ceremony be held by the new Gujarat Government.

In Gujarat's home state of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the BJP has smashed all previous electoral records, winning by a remarkable margin of about 1,92,000 votes.This constituency has won two of Gujarat's chief ministers, Anandiben Patel and the new CM.In the last Assembly elections in 2017, the BJP won 99 seats, while Congress led close at 77, while the BTP and Independent candidates secured 1, 2 and 3 seats, respectively.
