Gujarati surgeons have become India's first doctor couple to summit Mount Everest.

Dr Hemant Lalitchandra Leuva and his wife Dr Surbhiben Hemant Hemant Leuva made history on Friday by becoming the first Indian doctor couple to summit Mount Everest . Rigzin, a Ladakh climber, became the first Indian climber to reach Mt Annapurna without using supplemental oxygen .

Kathmandu, Jan. 30, 2019: Dr Hemant Lalitchandra Leuva and his wife Dr Surbhiben Hemant Leuva made history on Friday by becoming the first Indian doctor couple to summit Mount Everest, while another Indian climber climbed the worlds fourth-highest peak without using supplemental oxygen, according to Nepals media.According to Babu Sherpa, Managing Director of Peak Promotion Pvt Ltd, the couple made it to the summit of Mt Everest (8,516 meters) on Friday morning, according to a separate story.Rigzin, a Ladakh climber, became the first Indian climber to reach Mt Annapurna without using supplemental oxygen.On Thursday, Baljeet Kaur, a 27-year-old Indian woman climber from Himachal Pradesh, set a record for conquering two mountain peaks in Nepal above 8,000 meters in less than two weeks.On Thursday morning, Kanchenjunga (8,586 meters) is reached at 4:20 a.m. (local time).
