Mumbai (India): Vikas Walkar, the father of Shraddha Walkar, 27, who was brutally murdered in Delhi by her live-in partner Aaftab Amin Poonawala, said Aaftab should share the same fate with his daughter. He should be executed to death and under scrutiny. He called for a probe into his family members and those who may have been involved in the horrific murder.Furthermore, he also questioned the freedom that people have when turning 18 years old, saying that it should be given more thought.Mr Walkar also called for measures against certain mobile apps that are causing harm.
When my daughter returned home from work, she told me that she was an adult, and that's why I am saying this, he said.Shraddha met Aaftab in Mumbai through the mobile dating app Bumble.Mr Walkar said he was unimpressed with the direction of the probe so far and that he had sent a letter to Bumble asking details from his Aaftab account to assist in the investigation and reached out to other women he encountered through it while Shraddhas body parts were still in his Chattarpur apartment.I am confused because Vasai police Nalasopara police were lax in their investigation.Due to this, my daughter was unable to be saved. When asked whether they had locked all doors for Shraddha to return home once she left Aaftab, which many think may have left her isolated and unable to seek refuge from the abuse, he said, I want to know the reason.I wanted to ask her, but she never responded to any of my concerns.
