Vijayawada: The CID was told by the high court to consider alternative ways than summoning YSRC rebel MP K Raghu Ramakrishna Raju on Thursday in a lawsuit filed under the charges of sedition, conspiracy, and inciting violence between two groups.Raju petitioned the Supreme Court to dismiss the complaint brought against him.Justice Ch Manavendranath Roy directed the CID to investigate alternative sources, citing his counsel's concerns about his safety after being allegedly beaten up in CID detention, advising him that the CID should investigate in a confidential location that is both convenient to both sides.Advocate general S Sriram said the investigation into the sedition problem is not being carried out in light of the Supreme Court's recent ruling.

If the MP makes an appearance at the CID office for an investigation, he may face a similar fate, he said.He argued that an investigation in the CID office should not be allowed, adding that the petitioner is willing to cooperate with the investigation and that CID will question him at his residence in Hyderabad. On another occasion, Raju ordered his gunmen to shoot at CID officers when they arrived at his house to arrest him.Justice Roy asked the CID to come up with an alternative approach to investigate the controversy and extended the investigation until June 28.
