New Delhi, India, November 24 (SRV): A young lady who had heart disease from birth and severe abdominal pain just a few months before was successfully treated with a kidney stone removal procedure at United Hospital, Jayanagar Bangalore. This was discovered to be due to kidney stones that needed to be removed. Her heart disease was the cause of the difficulty in getting any type of anesthesia.Any anesthesia administered by a woman's heart condition, according to cardiologists, was a risky operation.
The next obstacle was that the stone was too large, more than 2.5 cm, and she needed to have a stent implanted in the ureter.Sagar Srinivas, the Lead Consultant Anesthesiologist, then addressed the patient's issue of pain, fear of infection, and the possibility of damage to the urinary tract as a result of the large stone.Dr. sardin agreed to treat this high-risk patient with only IV sedation and strict monitoring of her heart health. The procedure of DJ stenting and ESWL was performed by Rajeev Bashetty, Lead Consultant Urologist and Director of Clinical Excellence. Dr. Shantkumar Muruda, the Executive Director of United Hospital, Jayanagar, said there was no margin for error in this situation.Any situation could be handled at the hospital. Each step required special attention. The patient is now recovering well. United Hospital has a well-equipped ICU and dedicated, trained staff to safely handle such complex cases, according to Vikram Siddareddy, Chairman and Managing Director.SRV does not accept responsibility for the content in this column.dout
