Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) India: Rakesh Kumar, a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, won the Sundernagar assembly election on Thursday, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI).However, Congress Sohan Lal gained 21307 votes, while independent candidate Abhishek Thakur could gain 14704 votes by the time the counting of the votes in the constituency began.The BJP is now leading in 26 seats after winning one of the 68 assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh, according to the latest polling methods.However, the battle is getting tougher as Congress continues to lead in 38 seats, with Congress incumbent Hiteshwar Singh from Banjar now trailing with 16390 votes, followed by BJP candidate Surender Shouries of BJP at 8198.Meanwhile, the BJP rebel KL Thakur is also leading in the Assembly constituency, according to the ECI.
