BIRMINGHAM, England (England): On Saturday, Australias Oliver Hoare claimed a surprise victory in the Commonwealth Games mens 1,500 meters, but Scotland's newly minted world champion Jake Wightman was denied a golden double.A packed house packed into the sun-kissed Alexander Stadium in Eugene, Oregon, just over two weeks ago, with the hopes of seeing the Scot do it again.The roars weren't enough to propel Wightman to the top of the podium, as Hoare clocked his move to perfection down the home stretch, coming from fourth to take Kenya's Timothy Cheruiyot at the finish line.Hoare dominated the Games in three minutes, 30.12 seconds, with Cheruiyot only 0.09 seconds behind to claim silver and Wightman settling for bronze.
