NEW DELHI: For classes IX to XII, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) (CISCE) are teaming up to develop robotics and artificial intelligence. On Saturday, IIT Delhi announced that it has partnered with CISCE to develop curriculum for schools affiliated to the board in emerging technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science. The agreement was signed by CISCE and IIT Delhi's I-Hub Foundation for Cobotics (IHFC), the institute's technology innovation hub.Gerry Arathoon, the director and secretary of CISCE, said that the board has always sought to provide its students with a large variety of subject choices, responding to their interests and abilities while still respecting the latest requirements, and that CISCE intends to introduce the subjects of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at ICSE (class IX and X) and ISC (class XI and XII) levels.

Officials said that IHFC has also extended its expertise to the CISCE to update the current STEM courses in line with the Union education ministry's NEP 2020 program.Ashutosh Dutt Sharma, CEO of IHFC, emphasized the need to strengthen the country's capabilities in the area of robotics and emerging technologies.IHFC may also play a vital role in implementing the same in more than 2700 CISCE-affiliated schools, providing them with guidance on how to do so.Professor SK Saha, the project director at IHFC, said that supporting collaboration, creativity, and expertise to bridge the gap between young engineering students and future robotic enthusiasts is a key component of the project's strategy.
