Chennai (Tamil Nadu, India), December 9 : An alert was issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday that the maximum wind speed should reach 85 kmph due to the Mandous Cyclone.Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh are the three states that have received red alerts.The storm Mandous, which was pronounced as Man-Dous over the Southwest Bay of Bengal, advanced northwestwards at a speed of 14 kmph over the past 06 hours and lay centering at 1430 hours IST on today, December 9th, 2022, off the coast of north Tamilnadu and Puducherry, about 350 kilometers north of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka), 250 kilometers north-northeast of Jaffna (S A official statement by the Indian Meteorological Department said that Doppler Weather Radar Karaikal and Chennai are monitoring the storm.During midnight today and early hours of tomorrow, the IMD predicted a cyclonic storm with a maximum sustained wind speed of 65-75 kmph,gusting to 85 kmph.
