Raipur (Chhattisgarh) India: The Institute of Driving and Traffic Research (IDTR) at Nava Raipur has trained more than 12,000 students in driving and road safety in the state in a year since its establishment, according to a press release released by the CMO on Friday.On December 9, 2018, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel officially opened the academy under the chairmanship of Transport Minister Mohammad Akbar.According to the news release, the initiative of providing motor training is being implemented over 20 acres under the patronage of the state transportation department and Maruti Suzuki India Limited.This center is dedicated to increasing road safety and enhancing driving skills development for improved road sense.

Over 10,000 heavy vehicle drivers who attended the institutes' refresher training course were certified in defensive driving skills, driving in hazardous conditions, awareness of road signs, first aid, and the handling of road accident situations, among other things.School and college bus drivers were also trained in road safety and driving skills, keeping in mind the safety of school and college students.In IDTR, over 1,151 school bus drivers were taught around the state.Over 100 new students expressed an interest in being taught on scientifically designed routes and taking driving lessons.
