Raipur (India): The ruling Congress in Chhattisgarh won the Bhanupratappur Assembly bypoll on Thursday, defeating BJPs Brahmanand Netam, a rival of the BJP, who contested the election on Thursday.Ms Mandavi said the byelection was necessary because of the death of sitting Congress MLA Manoj Singh Mandavi.When asked about Mr Korram, a Sarva Adivasi Samaj (SAS) candidate, who was elected as the third member of the party, Mr Baghel said the people of Bhanupratappur gave their stamp of approval to his regime's achievements in the last four years.This time, both JCC (J) and the AAP did not contest.
