Delhi Disaster Management Authority met on Thursday to assess the Covid situation in the national capital . Experts attributed it to people letting their guard down and not following Covid-appropriate conduct .

According to official data, nearly 90 percent of the Covid-19 samples genome-sequenced in Delhi in July and August were detectable with the BA.2 variant of the virus.In July, 1,271 samples were collected in laboratories, and 1,133 of them were detected with the BA.2 method.There was no disease sample in the BA.4 form, while 138 were observed in the BA.5 form.In August, 2,064 samples were analysed, of which 90.35 percent were found to be in the BA.2 variant, while 199 were obtained in the BA.5 variant.

In August, Delhi saw a rise in the number of Covid cases, with experts attributed it to people letting their guard down and not following Covid-appropriate conduct.Now that the number of typical COVID-19 cases has fallen to just under 100, the DDMA may lift the Rs-500 fine for not wearing masks in public places, as well as scaling down the number of sick cases in hospitals in a phased manner.The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) met here on Thursday to assess the Covid situation in the national capital and conduct an analysis of the hospital's available funds to combat the coronavirus.
