The Digital Prosperity for Asia Alliance (DPA) was established in September 2022 in Bengaluru (Karnataka), India.The Digital Prosperity for Asia Alliance (DPA) India chapter, which was established on February 22, is positioned to accelerate a major shift in digital growth in India by partnering with Indian government core initiatives such as Digital India; Skill India; Make in India; and Startup India.According to Berges Y Malu, Senior Director of Public Policy at ShareChat, the DPA adopts an Asia centric, local strategy that aims to facilitate engagements and contact with local governments, local partners, and local connections, while also supporting the development of home-grown digital brands to improve the country's impact manifold.The DPA will act as industry allies to foster a productive innovation culture, according to Aditya Batura, CEO of Codomo.
The DPA commissioned and published a study by strategic consultancy AlphaBeta titled Prosperous APAC: Digital Economy Enablers as part of the inaugural launch.The report was created to assess the untapped economic value of APACs digital and suggest ways for governments and industry to fully exploit the benefits of the digital economy.The APAC-11s total digital economy (which includes 11 of the APAC's largest economies Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam) is currently valued at US$586 billion.This is however only 30% of the total potential of the internet economy today. The Digital Prosperity approach incorporates the advantages of flexible rules, broad access to international digital technologies, and domestic capabilities and skills.Accredify, AppMedia, Codomo, CyberLitmus, Doctor2U, Founders Doc, Innovobloc, Kinobi, Madeitdao, Opn, Peoples Health, Peoples Inc., Ringkas, ShareChat, Slab, Quickwork, and 3D Makers are among the current 17 members of the DPA.Its aim is to assist regional governments and policymakers in APAC to develop their digital economies and benefit from the benefits of digital technologies.The alliance is looking for more like-minded APAC companies in the digital space who acknowledge the importance of fostering the digital economy for local value creation and for shared prosperity in Asia.
