In the Delhi Judicial Officers Sexually Explicit Video Case, WhatsApp to the court

WhatsApp said it would not take steps in relation to dissemination of a sexually explicit video of a judicial officer with a woman . The lawsuit sought a permanent injunction against the publication and broadcast of the alleged video .

WhatsApp said on Friday that it would not take steps in relation to the dissemination of a sexually explicit video of a judicial officer with a woman that was released on November 29 by the Delhi High Court, unless specific mobile numbers are given and a proper order is obtained.The lawsuit sought a permanent injunction against the publication and broadcast of the alleged video dated 09 March 2022, which was later revealed by the court.We will not do it unless they give us the phone numbers.The court must order any action.Justice Varma advised the court that private exchanges are not like URLs or web links, and that it had advised the court that it had taken reasonable steps to discourage the said video from being broadcast on various platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, in its interim order.
