New Delhi (India) – December 7, 2017: In the three years after the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, India has designated two groups as terrorist organizations, including Tahreek-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (TuM), and all its manifestations, according to Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai in Rajya Sabha.He further stated that seven organisations operating in the country, including Jamat-ul-Mujahideen Global terrorist organizations and other hostile states in India have been trying to radicalize people by using religion and internet to lure people into terrorism, according to the Minister, who said that the government has a zero-tolerance approach to combating terrorism.At the Centre and State levels, there are effective and efficient collaboration processes between intelligence and security agencies.According to him, the Multi Agency Centre (MAC) has been upgraded and restructured to ensure that intelligence services and states can exchange intelligence in real-time.In response to the question of whether the Ministry of Home Affairs has established a Countering Financing of Terrorism Cell (CFT Cell) to assist in combating terror funding, Rai said that Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and National Security Guards (NSG) have also been stationed at various locations throughout the region to assist the States in dealing with such incidents.
