New Delhi, India, December 1: The Delhi Police moved the Delhi High Court on Thursday to prosecute a Trial Court order issued on August 1821 by which Shashi Tharoor was cleared of corruption in connection with the Sunanda Pushkar death case. After a 15-month investigation, Delhi Police had accused Tharoor of abetment to suicide and violence against Pushkar, who was discovered dead in a luxury hotel in Delhi in 2014.After the passing of an over 15-month deadline, Delhi Police have knocked on the door of the Delhi High Court. The case was scheduled for February 7, 2023 by the court.Senior Advocate Vikas Pahwa represented Shashi Tharoor in the trial, telling the court that various orders were made by the lower courts and the HC that the case records should not be shared with anyone.According to Delhi Police, Pushkar was discovered dead in a suite of a luxurious hotel in the district on the night of January 17, 2014.
In the matter, Delhi Police charged him with violating Sections 498-A (husband or relative of a woman subjected to violence) and 306 (abetment of suicide). The Public Prosecutors also argued that it was not an accidental death and relied on a post-mortem report that indicated that the death was caused by poisoning that could be oral or injectable.Srivastava also said that her condition worsened as a result of Pushkar's mental cruelty.Pushkar was not experiencing health problems earlier, according to counsel Pahwa, since the theory of injuring is in the air and cannot be admissible.Advocate Pahwa's lawyer read a statement by Sunandas son recorded under section 161 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, in which he said, In the Mortuary of AIIMS, I asked the doctor who performed the post-mortem, but the same doctor later went to the press and said Shashi cant harm even a fly.
